So, here's what happened.  The First Church of Cedar City Falls had a big ole rumble with the Church of Holy Forgiveness people and the First Church won!  The First Church held all the Church of Holy Forgiveness people captive in the jail, like prisoners of war, and Dorothy Sue was being a real b---tch about it.  She denied them food and water and lemon drops, until they apologized and agreed to return to the First Church -- which of course they did not do.  In the meantime, they realized that it was just about the time for their annual Popcorn Festival.  It's the holiday that's real important to them all and they decided to hold the Popcorn Festival talent show in secret.   Lynette, heartbroken from no having heard from Gareth and detoxing from no booze, pulled herself up from her bootstraps and decided to organize the whole talent show.  Pastor Thelmers, who was doing Dorothy Sue's bidding, was swayed at the thought of being able to do the song he does every year, and agreed to help them hide their festivities from Dorothy Sue. 

Now, in the meantime, Gareth was recovering from his injuries in a cave when Jonathan Wilson came a' calling.  He came bringing board games, trying to win the heart and mind of young Gareth.  He eventually did succeed in getting Gareth to believe that his mission was to go break everyone out of the jail, with force and violence.

During the talent show, when Chuck was doing a lovely rendition of "Old Black Magic," Janelle gave birth to Satan's baby.   Ginnie ratted everyone out to Dorothy Sue for a sandwich and Dorothy Sue interrupted the talent show, catching everyone in the act.   She then tried to kill Edna Mae with a syringe full of window cleaner because Marlene didn't get around to it.  But lo and behold, Gareth came crashing into the jail with Jonathan Wilson's truck and gun and busted everyone out.  Sheriff Lars ended up pulling a gun on his mother, Dorothy Sue, to stop her.  Gareth shot Marlene with his gun in the process, and everyone ran out, calling for blood, with Dorothy Sue screaming that she wants to turn the whole place to shit, and Gareth and Edna Mae calling to burn the whole town down.

Things have gotten very ugly at Cedar City Falls.  I can't imagine what's going to happen next!
